Kenya is in East Africa on the coast of the Indian Ocean. It shares borders with Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia. It is shaded gray in the map of Africa to the right.
Makutano is in the Central Highlands of Kenya, ~60 kilometers north of Nairobi, and ~80 kilometers southeast of Mt. Kenya. The Centre is located in the Central Province, in the Kerugoya district. Makutano is highlighted in red in the map of Kenya to the right.
